2nd Bihar State Open Tamo Martial Art Championship-2023 -Date: 7-8 October 2023, Venue: Forest Auditorium Building, Near SBI Bank Valmikinagar Bagaha 02, West Chamaparan, Bihar, India,

Ancient History: Valmikinagar Bagaha and the surrounding region have a rich ancient history. The area was part of the ancient Magadh region, which played a significant role in the development of Indian civilization. It was home to various ancient dynasties and kingdoms, including the Mauryan Empire, which was one of the most prominent empires in ancient India. The region's historical significance can be traced back to the times of Lord Buddha, who is believed to have visited and preached in this part of Bihar.

Medieval Period: During the medieval period, this region continued to be a part of various dynastic rule, including the Gupta Empire and the Pala Empire. The presence of Buddhist and Hindu temples in the area indicates its religious and cultural importance during this time. The medieval period saw the flourishing of art, culture, and trade in the region.

British Colonial Period: Like many other parts of India, Valmikinagar Bagaha came under British colonial rule during the 19th century. The British established administrative control over the area and introduced various socio-economic changes, including the construction of railways and the collection of revenue.

Post-Independence: After India gained independence in 1947, Valmikinagar Bagaha became a part of the newly formed state of Bihar. The region continued to develop, and efforts were made to improve infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

Valmikinagar Wildlife Sanctuary: Valmikinagar Bagaha is also known for the Valmikinagar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is located in the West Champaran district. This sanctuary is named after the sage Valmiki, who is believed to have composed the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana, in this area. The sanctuary is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. It is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including tigers, leopards, elephants, and various species of birds. The sanctuary is a protected area and plays a vital role in conserving the region's biodiversity.

In addition to its historical and cultural significance, Valmikinagar Bagaha is now hosting the 2nd Bihar State Open Tamo Martial Art Championship in 2023, showcasing its commitment to promoting martial arts and sports in the region.
